The Mark Anthony Luperma-coached Barangay Lapu-Lapu meanwhile settled for the second spot behind Joshua Atis and Mark Viola who scored 13 points and nine points, respectively.

In an interview with Sun.Star Davao, coach Roderick Mahinay of Leon Garcia said that they won because they dedicated a lot of training time to prepare themselves in the tournament.

In vernacular, coach Mahinay said, “We expected to win because we really worked hard for this. The players practiced almost every day for the prestige of our barangay. Everything paid off.”

Coach Luperma of Lapu-Lapu meanwhile said that they were at a disadvantage because of their lack of players but still considered themselves champions for making into the finals.

Trophies and cash prizes were awarded to the winning teams through Ronnel Abrenica of SDD-CMO.

The Mythical Five were Hingo of 21-C, Gildore of 13-B, Abata of Lapu-Lapu and Leon Garcia’s Pepito and Dela Peña. The most valuable player (MVP) award was given to Dela Peña.
