P8M worth of shabu seized from ma, daughter

SOME P8 million worth of shabu was confiscated by agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) 7 this afternoon from a 58-year-old woman and her daughter.

A total of 20 large packs of shabu weighing 50 grams each were seized from Editha Paul, 58, and her daughter Maricris Paul, 32, both residents of Barangay Lorega, Cebu City.

PDEA 7 agents were tipped about the delivery of the drugs through a courier company. They waited for the package--a box containing 10 pairs of bedroom slippers and 10 pairs of rubber sandals--to arrive then intercepted the Pauls upon claiming it.

The drugs were reportedly concealed in the soles of the rubber sandals, which was placed in the bottom part of the box. The package was sent from a mall in Alabang, Muntinlupa City.

PDEA 7 agents are now conducting an inventory of the items seized.
