JEWARD Paras of Team Classic Davao bagged two titles in the recently-concluded Phoenix Accelerate Vega National Dragster 1/8 Mile Bracket Racing Competition held at Speed City Crocodile Park in Ma-a.
Paras clinched the class B Quick 4 and class B titles over teammate Khen Alberca and Iyam Del Pilar of team Street Magic who finished second and third, respectively.
Gary Dumbrique, for his part, emerged champion in Quick 8 to beat team Ground Image bet Benjie Pang and Miki Cong of DMT.
The class A title went to Don Don Medija of West Ridge while Pang and Paras wounded up in the next two places.
Team K-Racing Allan Chiu also shared the limelight by copping the class C crown against next two placers Renz Palmis and Peter Sia Jr. The latter also topped the class C Quick 4.
The Old School Class category was dominated by Toditz Zamora of team Mashado followed by Dynamic Performance’s Ivan Mendez and Jem Zamora.
Michael Cong of DMT, meanwhile, was cited as best in reaction time with 0.503 seconds.
All winners received gift packs and prizes.
A total of 16 teams competed in the event presented by Phoenix Petroleum Philippines Inc. and organized by the Davao Drag Racers Association (DDRA) headed by president Elben Pang along with Red Mansayagang of team Ground Image.
