Counterfeiting couple collared by cops

FLORIDABLANCA -- Policemen arrested over the weekend a couple involved in the proliferation of fake bills in various sari-sari stores here and nearby Guagua town.

Superintendent Jhoanna Rosales, town police chief, identified the suspects as Marlon Palisoc, 35 years old , single and his live in partner Agnes Capati, 34, single both of Barangay San Antonio, Guagua.

Rosales said the suspects were arrested by local police and barangay officials of San Roque after they victimized Allen Pagcu, owner of Janet Sari-Sari store in the said place.

She said that the two allegedly bought softdrinks using a fake P500 bill, which the victim noticed and immediately reported to authorities.

A follow-up operation led to the arrest of the suspects who fled to Barangay Dau, Lubao using a tricycle.

Confiscated from them were P3,960 of various fake bills used in victimizing sari-sari stores in the area.

For his part, Mayor Eddie Guerrero commended the police and barangay tanods for their vigilance in arresting the suspects. (Chris Navarro)
