CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) announced that the supposed nine-hour power interruption in some parts of Pampanga on Wednesday has been moved to June 20.
NGCP Central Luzon Corporate Communications and Public Affairs Officer Ernest Lorenz Vidal told Sun.Star Pampanga that the rescheduling is to give way to the request of Basa Air Base for uninterrupted power Wednesday.
Vidal, however, added that customers of Pelco II and SFELAPCO-Florida will still experience the outage from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Affected are the towns of Bacolor, Sta. Rita, Sasmuan, Porac, Lubao, Guagua, and Floridablanca.
"Reasons of brownout is to facilitate annual preventive maintenance of the 1.5MVA transformer and its associated power equipment at Basa Substation and replacement of old wood poles along Hermosa-Guagua 69kV line. Normal operations will immediately resume after work completion," Vidal said. (JTD)
