MF Computer Solution bags PRHA Class B title

JR KATIPUNAN played hero with his booming triples and unstoppable jumpers for MF Computer Solution that beat Sharp-Basketball Unified Sports Group, 110-105 for the class B title of Pueblo Rosario Homeowners Association (PRHA) summer league at Eroreco Subdivision Monday.

The 24-year-old unknown talent from Silay City started his shooting spree in the second quarter, overshadowing the four successive triples of Huskies' Amit Teruel in the first passerelle set.

The much younger MF squad took the first quarter, 34-31, and led by as much as 11 points before settling for 90-82 advantage at the end of third canto.

BUSG's Rex Bayer and Bandoy Aliermo, who later became members of the Mythical Five, kept the Huskies close but cannot keep up with Computer Solution's fresh legs and huge muscles underneath.

Garry Garcia, who took the Sportsmanship Award, along with Bert Celis, Hermie Derwill and Teruel gave a fight to the finish but Katipunan, who was voted Most Valuable Player, cannot be matched by Huskies defenders.

Postponed by brownout last Saturday, the MF-Sharp finale was close in the first three quarters until a barrage of three-pointers and breakaway layups hit the Huskies who ran out of options.

Commissioner Hernani Castor and PRHA director Steve Leonidas awarded the championship trophy and individual awards. (HGD)
