A TOTAL of 22,181 job vacancies from 113 local and overseas companies will be available in today's 2014 Kalayaan Job Fair of the Department of Labor and Employment-Davao region (Dole 11) at NCCC Mall of Davao, Matina.

Sherwin Manual, Dole 11's labor communication officer, said in a phone interview yesterday that there will be 5,593 vacancies from 79 local companies and 16,588 vacancies from 34 overseas companies and agencies.

Participating companies are mostly looking for call center agents, customer service representatives, service crew, office staff, administrative clerk, carpenter, market sales person, accounting assistant, insurance salesman, and non-formal education teacher.

There will also be a one-stop shop that will be set up during the fair, where services from SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-Ibig, National Bureau of Investigation, Department of Foreign Affairs, National Statistics Office, Tesda, and members from the Regional Coordinating Council are to be offered.

During a press launch of the job fair at NCCC Mall, Dole 11 regional director Joffrey M. Suyao said they are expecting some 3,000 applicants to attend, based on the trend in the number of applicants attending the previous job fairs, but added it may go up to 5,000 applicants.

Prior to the job fair, there was also a Mini job fair and Philjobnet Online registration at the NCCC Mall, which opened on June 5, 2014 and ended yesterday.

Manual said those who attended the Mini job fair will be able to skip the first three steps of today's job fair: registration, shopping for job vacancies, and validation. He said 765 have already been registered through the Mini job fair.

During the 2014 Labor Day Job Fair, Dole 11 recorded a total of 10,479 registered job applicants wherein 1,276 were hired on the spot. The fair was simultaneously held at Gaisano Mall of Davao and Tagum and SM City Davao.

There were a total of 29,816 job vacancies from 226 local and overseas agencies and companies that were made available during that fair.
