THE turnover of command at the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) between officer-in-charge, Senior Supt. Larry Decena, and BCPO deputy city director for administration (DCDA), Superintendent Armando Tubongbanua, will be held today.

Decena said on Thursday he received an order from Western Visayas Police Regional Office (PRO) for the holding of the turnover of command.

The rites will be held at 5 p.m. at the BCPO headquarters. It will be attended by Acting Mayor Greg Gasataya and Chief Superintendent Josephus Angan, PRO director, or a representative of the PRO-6.

However, Decena said he doesn’t know yet who will succeed him.

On June 14, Decena will turn 56, the retirement age in the Philippine National Police.

Decena said that in the absence of the list of names of his potential successor, Tubongbanua is automatically tasked to replace him.

Angan said that for now, they don’t have yet the list of names.

The post of BCPO director will be occupied by the deputy for city director while waiting for a permanent replacement of Decena, Angan said.

Decena, who stayed as BCPO officer-in-charge for almost five months, served in PNP for almost 31 years.

He said that his significant accomplishments in the BCPO were on the campaign against illegal drugs and apprehensions of robbery suspects victimizing call center agents in the city.

Decena has also formed a team to train the K-9 dogs of BCPO.
