Shootings kill 2 in Sibonga

TWO men were killed in separate shooting incidents in Sibonga, Cebu last Wednesday.

The first incident happened at 8:15 a.m. in Barangay Manatad.

The victim, who remains unidentified, was described to be wearing a yellow upper garment, green khaki short pants and a pair of black slippers.

Some residents claimed that they heard a gunshot and later found the victim lying on the road.

The victim had gunshot wounds in the left arm and body.

The town police learned that the man was seen by several residents walking on the street from the nearby Barangay Libo to Barangay Manatad.

Police recovered assorted plastic trash near the victim’s body. He was brought to the Cosmopolitan Funeral Homes in Carcar City.

In Barangay Bae, June Rex Terremocha Alcarez, 26, and a farmer, died from multiple gunshot wounds in different parts of his body.

Alcarez’s body was first found by a 16-year-old boy who happened to pass by the area.

Fake bill

PO2 Edralino Bacusmo of the Sibonga Police Station said that the night before the attack, Alcarez was reportedly seen drinking with three other men in a sari-sari store.

Alcarez allegedly paid a counterfeit P200 bill in the store, which was returned to him after it was found out to be faked.

At past 8 p.m., Wednesday, Alcarez was allegedly shot by an unidentified person in different parts of his body.

Police recovered 10 empty shells from a caliber .45 pistol were recovered at the crime scene. (Franz Correa, USJ-R Mass Comm Intern)
