Meeting with PNoy eyed over property in Brgy. 35

BARANGAY 35 village chief Manuel Huelar Jr. said on Tuesday the representatives of the Presidential Commission on Good Government (PCGG) are facilitating their possible meeting with President Benigno S. Aquino III on the first week of August regarding the 4.6- hectare formerly Martel property placed under the jurisdiction of the PCGG.

The property is currently being occupied by about 800 houses starting at the end of the bridge where the barangay welcome marker is situated going to the reclamation area.

Huelar said there is no cause for alarm for the informal settlers because it is the PCGG which facilitates the possible transfer of ownership to the present occupants.

He added that an ejectment is farfetched because the PCGG representative from Manila and the local PCGG representatives are helping the barangay make the present settlers become the owners of their respective properties

Huelar said he will also meet with City Administrator Rolando Villamor to ask also the help of the city government regarding the PCGG property.

Villamor had earlier he has invited the concerned settlers to come to his office last Monday, but nobody came.

He said that he called for the meeting to discuss the matter in preparation for the arrival of the PCGG representatives this week.
