'Felix Manalo' premiere breaks 2 world records

INDIGENOUS religious group Iglesia ni Cristo (INC) bagged two new Guinness world records for historical drama "Felix Manalo."

The movie's premiere night held on Sunday at The Philippine Arena in Bocaue, Bulacan was attended by more than 43,000 members, making it the world's largest attendance for a film screening.

It topped the previous record of 28,442 attendees for the premiere of documentary "Honor Flight" at Miller Park in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in August 2012.

The biopic also bagged the largest indoor film screening record.

Starring Dennis Trillo, the movie tells the life of the religious group's founder Felix Manalo.

Among those who attended the premiere night were Andrea del Rosario, Bela Padilla, Gladys Reyes, Nadine Lustre and Gabby Concepcion.

Directed by Joel Lamangan, "Felix Manalo" opens in cinemas on October 7. (Sunnex)
