BANCO de Oro, fresh from winning the interagency hoop fest at the expense of Metrobank, reinforced Team A’s Blue Thunder in the fifth edition of the Philippine Finance Association (PFA)-Cagayan de Oro Chapter basketball tournament which formally opened here at the Macasandig gym on Wednesday night, June 18.
Aside from BDO, the Blue Thunder also relied on Ramada, Middleland and PCCI dribblers in their campaign for this exciting event to be played four nights in two succeeding weekends.
“Ika-fifth na kini nga edition sa PFA tourney and we’re glad nga anaa gihapon ang aktibo nga suporta sa mga member teams,” concurrent PFA-Oro Chapter president Avelino “Billy” Sabella of Wealthbank told Sun.Star Cagayan de Oro.
Also gracing the ceremonial rites were BDO’s Jessie Tolod, chair of PFA’s sports committee, and fellow board of directors Errol Gabe of AUB and Glenn S. Manlupig.
Team B’s White had the top guns of Wealthbank, AUB, Uni Finance, Yusay and PSBank. Team C’s Yellow anchored by PenBank, Enterprise Bank, RFC and Lease Finance cagers. While Team D’s Red will be comprised of ALGO, CIFC, Dyno, Poston and FSFC hoopsters. (LLS)
