New home for Hanah jins as they prepare for nat’l event

JINS of multi-titled Hanah Taekwondo got a new home as they prepare for the upcoming National Age-Group in Manila next month.

Hanah, which won the over-all championship title in the recent 15th Visayas Age Group Taekwondo Championships, has transferred to its new gym at Lopue’s East Center.

Bemedalled mentor Vic Feria said the new facility will help them prepare their players, not only for the national tournament but also for other competitions.

“The venue is more accessible to our players and their parents. As of now, we have around 70 jins and the new gym will allow us to work in schedules to ensure that all our students get the proper training based on their level of competence,” Feria added.

As to their preparation, Feria, the 2012-2013 Smart Nationals Best Coach and 2011 Palarong Pambansa Best Coach awardee, said they are working hard to meet their target in this national competition.

In the Visayas Age Group tilt, Hanah jins dominated the competition with 17 golds, 17 silvers and 6 bronzes with 2012 Smart Nationals Best Player Marcus Ernesto Hinojas leading the team.

Feria reiterated, however, that with the new scoring system – the Protective Scoring System (PSS) – currently applied in national competitions, the province should likewise upgrade its equipment to meet the standards. (HGD)
