Thai execs to visit Cebu on June 26

TOP executives from 15 companies in Thailand are expected to arrive in Cebu next week for a business matching.

Jose Ng, Thailand’s honorary trade advisor in the Philippines, announced that the Department of International Trade Promotion in Thailand, in partnership with Thai Trade Center in Manila, will organize a whole-day Thailand Business Matching on June 26 in the Radisson Blu Hotel in Cebu.

It will be opportunity for Thailand and Cebu to forge business partnership, as both countries prepare to position themselves for the full integration of Southeast Asian economies in 2015.

Cebu’s entrepreneurs have long been encouraged to link with business owners in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean) to gain a stronger foothold in the market and as a strategy for business expansion.

Gateway

According to Ng, Thailand is a good potential market for locally manufactured processed food and fruit products. Thailand is also “a good gateway” to reach more of the 600-million consumer market in Asean.

The business matching will showcase various and leading Thai products, which include auto parts and accessories such as tires and tubes for motorcycles and bicycles, car paints, shock absorbers, rubber hoses for industrial and automobile uses, automotive accessories body kits, bumpers, logos, and name plates.

Construction materials will also be showcased, like silicone sealants, bathroom accessories, rubber sport flooring, cylindrical door locks, and ceramic sanitary wares, as well as electrical accessories including lighting fixtures, junction boxes, enclosures and control stations.

These Thai companies are also seeking exclusive distributors in the Philippines.
