CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- The City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (CDRRMO) has been preparing for the upcoming National Disaster Consciousness Month in July.
National Disaster Consciousness Month is celebrated the whole month, with disaster response groups conducting training, seminars and drills that will enhance the preparedness in times of emergencies.
Apple David, CDRRMO administration and training section chief, said they participated in activities initiated by the National Government.
"For now, since we have had months to prepare for disaster consciousness month, we have scheduled many activities and events. The kick-off program will be a motorcade to be held on July 1," said David.
She also said that they have almost completed the equipment needed when rescuing or responding to disasters and emergencies.
"We also have partners in these, example is the Pampanga Off Roaders Club since we know that the city is flood prone, we need the equipment that they have," David added.
The preparation and celebration of the National Disaster Consciousness Month is a mandate coming from the national government in line with preparedness in facing calamities and disasters happening in every part of the country. (Marionne I. Cayanan)
