FOR refusing to have sex, a 32-year-old woman was stabbed by her live-in partner inside their rented room in Sitio Upper Kalunasan, Barangay Kalunasan, Cebu City last Sunday.
Jasmine (real name withheld following the provision under the law against Violence against Women and Children) sustained multiple stab wounds.
According to police, Jasmine was resting inside their room when boyfriend Eugenio Aposaga, 27, reportedly asked to have sex with her.
But Jasmine was too tired and refused.
Aposaga got angry, grabbed an ice pick and stabbed Jasmine repeatedly.
Jasmine shouted for help and was immediately rushed to the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center for treatment.
Aposaga voluntarily surrendered to the authorities.
SPO4 Rey Cuyos said that Jasmine is still confined at the hospital after an operation last Sunday.
According to an Aksyon Bisaya report, Jasmine is three months pregnant.
A frustrated murder charge is expected to be filed against Aposaga today before the Cebu City Prosecutor's Office. (Nheru Veraflor, USJ-R Mass Com Intern)
