Printer firm Brother reveals six new products

BROTHER International Philippines Corporation (Brother) introduced its latest models of inkjet and mono-laser printers to Dabawenyos on Monday in their week long activity Printer Madness 3 at the Gaisano Mall of Davao.

The new mono-laser printers introduced Monday include the DCP-1510, MFC-1810, and MFC-1815 while the new inkjet printers include the DCP-J100, DCP-J105, and MFC-J200.

Brother deputy general manager for sales Masao Kasagi, in an interview with Sun.Star Davao, said the new set of ink-jet and mono-laser printers have already be introduced earlier in Manila. The mono-lasers were introduced late last year while the ink jet printers were introduced earlier this year, around January or February.

The DCP-1510 is able to print, scan, and copy. It has a print and copy speed of up to 20 to 21 pages per minute (ppm), 16 megabyte (MB) memory, a resolution of 600 x 600 dots per inch (dpi), and manual double-sided printing.

In addition to the features of DCP-1510, the MCF-1810 can also fax and PC fax. It's additional features include a 14.4kbps fax modem speed.

The MFC-1815 features a PC Fax with handset, 150-sheet standard paper tray, and built in handset in addition to the features of the later two.

The DCP-J100 Inkjet printer is able to color print, scan, and copy. Some of its features include a print speed, if in fast mode, of up to 27 ppm if monochrome and 10 ppm if colored and a 100-sheet standard paper tray.

DCP-J105 on the other hand has a wireless networking feature on top of the other features of DCP-J100.

MFC-J200 has faxing capabilities on top of the features of the other two inkjet printers. Its fax feature has a modem speed of 14.4 Kbps; transmission speed of approximately seven seconds; automatic recognition of fax and telephone reception; speed dials of up to 40 locations; group dials of up to 6 groups; memory transmission of up to 170 pages, and out-of-paper reception up to 170 pages.

The products were introduced to Dabawenyos during the Printer Madness 3 at the atrium of Gaisano Mall of Davao yesterday. Aside from printers, Brother Sewing machines are also on display until Sunday.

Lalaine Mesina, Brother marketing manager, said they are also offering free service and maintenance support to its customers.

"The main purpose of the event is to increase the brand awareness of Dabawenyos on Brother products," Kasagi said.

She said they are aggressively promoting their products in the provincial market.
