Kris Aquino prays for friendship with Jinggoy Estrada

QUEEN of All Media Kris Aquino hopes to remain friends with Senator Jinggoy Estrada who surrendered to police on Monday on plunder and graft charges in connection with the pork barrel fund scam.

In Monday's episode of "Aquino & Abunda Tonight," the television host revealed that Estrada called him last week before and after he gave his privilege speech at the Senate.

She said Estrada's main concern is his eight-year-old daughter, Jill, who refused to accept that her father is going to jail for the second time.

"Sinabi niya sa akin, 'Alam mo Mare, lahat ng ito ay kaya ko. Si Jill lang ang nahihirapan talaga ako.' At si Jill sinabi, 'I don't care where you will be Papa. Gusto ko katabi kita'," she said quoting the senator.

Aquino said she is praying for the detained senator and his family.

"As you said Boy (Abunda), the merits of the case are already there. I'm sure they have the best lawyers possible. At kung ano ang katotohanan, lalabas at lalabas 'yun. Kay Jinggoy and Precy, sa buong pamilya nila, we will be praying," she said.

The presidential sister hopes that issues will not affect her friendship with the Estradas.

Senator Ramon "Bong" Revilla Jr. has been blaming President Benigno Aquino III, the TV host's elder brother, for the filing of plunder and graft charges against him, Estrada and Senate Minority Leader Juan Ponce Enrile in relation to the pork barrel scam.

"Sa pulitika marami nang napagdaanan pero siguro napatunayan na we have remained friends and I pray that we will continue to remain friends," the Queen of All Media said.

Estrada on Monday surrendered to his father, former President and now Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada, after the Sandiganbayan issued a warrant of arrest for plunder and graft charges in connection with the Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) scam.

The Senator is now detained at the custodial center of the Philippine National Police in Quezon City. (Sunnex)
