Chesaa wants steadier sked for 13th season

TWO months before the official tip off, the upcoming 13th season of the Cordillera Higher Education Sports Athletic Association executive board wants to reinforce steadiness in sport games and event schedules.

“We are already working to make our schedule on time for this coming season, all preparations are already planned as our executive board wants to consistently improve our sports organization,” said Danny Eduardo of the season’s host school King’s College of the Philippines.

According to Eduardo, KCP has already plotted tentative dates for all sport events for approval.

“So far we are trying to resolve the dates of every event. This way we can come up with a better staging and we can generally and hopefully involve all member schools to participate in each event,” Eduardo said.

“Of course we have to make it as early as possible so that all our member schools will have enough time to prepare in screening their athletes. This is a sports association and we wish not to exclude some members just because they cannot provide entries sa mga competition,” Eduardo added.

CHESAA is the second largest collegiate sports association in the Cordillera region with 12 colleges and schools participated by students coming from Baguio City and Benguet closely estimated to have 8,000 in population.

According to Eduardo, the host school intends to open the 13th season this coming August 21.

He said KCP will convince all member schools to send entries in all competitions scheduled for the first and second phase.

“Malaking bagay na lahat ng member ng CHESAA is active since that will be determining factor in the success of our organization,” Eduardo quipped.

Aside from the host KCP, CHESAA member schools include AMA College, Baguio College of Technology, Baguio School of Business and Technology, Benguet Vocational School, Data Center College of the Philippines, Easter College Inc., NIIT-Baguio, Philippine Nazarene College, Philippine Women’s University, and HML College.
