Wa-o battles Rivera for WBC International

IGOROT fighting pride Rex Wa-o stakes his undefeated record tonight against fellow undefeated Virden Rivera for the WBC International Bantamwieght Championship at the Andres Bonifacio gymnasium in Mandaluyong City.

Fresh from a 10 round decision in his last bout, Wa-o will gun for his 10th win in a row as he squares off against ParaƱaque's Rivera, also undefeated in seven fights with two knockout wins and one draw in the event dubbed 'Triple Blow' hatched by BLAS - Naris International Boxing Promotions in cooperation with Highland Boxing.

Rivera who hails from Antique is also coming from a hard-fought 10-round unanimous decision win over the same opponent, Jovil Marayan, in March this year.

The co-main event features the return of Gensan's Ernie Sanchez (14-5, 5 KO's) who now fights with Highland Boxing Stable against the resourceful 25-year-old 34-fights veteran Randy Megrino of Iligan City for the WBC Youth Super Bantamweight strap.

The 22 year old Sanchez badly needs a victory after two consecutive defeats in his last international outings coming from Mexican Rey Vargas (20-0, 17 KO's) in December of last year in Chihuahua, Mexico and Andres Vargas in November at the Auditorio General Arteaga, Queretaro, Queretaro, Mexico.

Sanchez almost snatched title fight way back in 2012 after scoring back to back victories in Las Vegas way back in 2012 but the two losses has caused his rankings in the super bantamweight dipped.

Another exciting bout lined up for the evening is the Asian Boxing Federation featherweight belt with 23-year-old Rey Perez battling (19-4, 4 KO's) Carlo Magali (17-7, 2 KO's).

The undercard will also see the cousin of boxing superstar Manny Pacquiao in action, Warlight Dapidran who will square off against Jerry Salivo in a 4-rounder in the light weight division match.

Carlean Rivas (3-1-3, 0 KO's) of Antipolo, Rizal, exchange blows with Rochell Listino in a 4-rounder in the super flyweight division while Tanada Singwancha collides against Mark Sales during four torrid rounds in the 135 lbs weight class.
