Villa Iska has no business permit yet

Acting Division Head Marie Ann Biasca said Wednesday the application for business permit of Villa Iska Beach Resort in Barangay Punta Taytay has not yet reached the City Permits and Licensing Division yet.

"Insofar as my office is concerned, the said beach resort has not applied or has been issued a business permit. There are many kinds of permits such as occupancy permits, building permits, among others. But in our record, they have not been issued a business permit," Biasca said.

The resort is owned by businessman Francis Rey Cabuga.

She said it might be that the said resort is still in the process of complying with other permits such as barangay clearance, zoning clearance, sanitary/health clearance, occupancy permit, fire safety inspection certificate, and clearance from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR).

Villa Iska has been controversial after it opened its doors to the public in summer despite being issued a notice of violation by the Office of the Building Official (OBO).
