CONGRATULATIONS to Sun.Star Cagayan de Oro on its 19th anniversary as a publication.
As this paper continues to evolve and thrive in keeping with very interesting times Cagayan de Oro City residents can expect more of the same commitment that it showed in covering the news that are relevant and critical in contributing to the progress of the city, province and region that it continually strives to positively engage with.
I've been witness to the commitment of the men and women behind this publication, some of whom have worked since it began in 1995. There were differences to be sure and these have resulted in clashes but when all is said and done, they manage to get the stories right and put the paper to bed for city residents and their visitors to read through on the next day.
For everyone in the paper brings something different to the table and these contributions all make the sum greater than its parts. When it started, Sun.Star Cagayan de Oro can rightfully claim to have the best people in the business working day and night to deliver the news straight and on time.
I reasonably believe that it can relive its glory days and build upon the respective legacies and philosophies left behind by its former employees who are now employed in other jobs but continues to value their experience in working for the paper, of having some pride in knowing that they've once been part of something special.
Again congratulations to Sun.Star Cagayan de Oro and may the future continue to shine bright for you.
