BACOLOD City’s undefeated champions Genesis “Azukal” Servania and “King” Arthur Villanueva will be entering the ring for the Pinoy Pride 27: Duel in Dubai on August 29 at Dubai International Convention Center.

Servania (24-0, 10KOs), reigning World Boxing Organization (WBO) Inter-continental super bantamweight champion and WBO Asia Pacific “Fighter of the Year,” will defend his belt against former two-time world title challenger Jose “Matador” Cabrera (22-4, 10KOs) of Mexico in the main event.

Villanueva (25-0, 14KOs) will clash against Nicaraguan Henry “El Crespo” Maldonado (18-3, 13KOs) for the International Boxing Federation (IBF) junior bantamweight title.

Both Servania and Villanueva received tokens from Bacolod City last week in recognition of their contribution to the city.

The duo succeeded in the Pinoy Pride 24 at the Solaire Resort and Casino where Servania defended his title with a TKO victory against former two-time WBA super flyweight world champion Alexander “El Explosivo” Muñoz of Venezuela.

Villanueva survived tough substitute fighter Fernando Aguilar of Mexico via a unanimous decision.

Also seeing action in the supporting main event is Rey “Boom Boom” Bautista (35-3, 25KOs) against Mexican Juan Jose “Piquet” Martinez (19-1, 15KOs) in a non-title bout scheduled for 10 rounds. (HGD)
