ZAMBOANGA CITY -- The three-year-old girl who reportedly showed vital signs and thought to be alive during her funeral mass was finally laid to rest Tuesday in Aurora, Zamboanga del Sur, an official said.
Aurora Municipal Information Officer Jose Mendoza said the burial came after the girl’s mother and relatives were convinced that she was indeed dead following investigation initiated by the Municipal Health Office.
Mendoza said Aurora Municipal Health Officer Dr. Mary Silyne Asor-Cabahug spearheaded the investigation.
Mendoza said Cabahug went to the girl’s residence, bringing along with her a medical apparatus after it was reported that some of the relatives refused to bury her because the child might be alive.
The girl reportedly moved her head and showed vital signs when the coffin was opened to be blessed by the priest during her funeral mass Saturday.
