SM malls support Disability Week

SM CITY Cebu and SM City Consolacion join the Organization of Rehabilitative Advocates for Inclusion in the celebration of the 36th National Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation (NDPR) Week.

This year’s celebration carries the theme, “The Gift of Talent & Trustworthiness of PWD: Passports to Development,” and aims to promote the capabilities, skills and talents of persons with disabilities (PWDs) geared toward improving their lives and uplift their economic status.

The celebration will open with a holy mass on Sunday, July 20, at 9 a.m. at the Northwing Atrium in SM City Cebu and in SM City Consolacion. A parade around the mall will happen after the mass.

A talk on the Human Rights Unlimited and Employer’s Forum to be hosted by Persons with Disabilities Affairs Office will happen at 1:30 p.m. at the Event Centre of SM City Cebu.

Students from different special education (Sped) schools in Cebu City will showcase their talents in “Sped-tacular” on July 22, 1 p.m. at the Event Centre of SM City Cebu.

A talk and demo on Braille, writing system used by the blind, Filipino sign language, and Arts & Crafts will happen on July 23, 1 p.m. at the Event Centre in SM City Cebu.
