Chinese fugitive arrested in Pasay

THE Bureau of Immigration (BI) is set to deport a Chinese fugitive for alleged involvement in economic crimes.

Zhang Dongman, 51, was arrested at a domestic airport in Pasay City around 10:30 a.m. Friday.

BI spokesperson Elaine Tan said the foreigner was apprehended following a month-long surveillance and intelligence work.

“As in all cases involving fugitives, we will ensure that Zhang is deported at the soonest possible time, pursuant to Commissioner Mison’s ‘Good Guys In, Bad Guys Out’ program,” she said in a statement.

Records show that Zhang had been living in the Philippines since 2011. His passport was cancelled last July.

On July 30, the BI’s Board of Commissioners issued a Summary Deportation Order against Zhang for undesirability. (FP/Sunnex)
