IN A STAR studded night attended by bloggers, media and government officials headed by Mayor Oscar Moreno and DOT Regional Director Catalino Chan III, Globe #WonderfulMindaNOW awards Chingkeetea, a dainty little tea house located at Marfori Compound, as the coolest spot in Mindanao.
A campaign to highlight tourist spots, cultural heritage, food, products and even people in Mindanao, Globe’s #WonderfulMindaNOW is their latest social media campaign to vote for Mindanao’s coolest spots.
Popstar Princess Sarah Geronimo, Sponge Cola and Up Dharma Down were the stars of the night as they heated up the stage with their performances on Friday, August 8, 2014 at Lim Ket Kai Atrium.
Coolest spot
As the night ended, Chingkeetea proprietor Sharee Mae “Chingkee” Te, brought home a huge trophy and sincerely thanked Kagay – anons for their votes.
Chingkeetea is not just your ordinary tea house. It is a tea house full of art. Graffitti, posts, portraits paintings, and quotes with uniquely designed handmade interiors. Everyone is free to be themselves and express themselves through art.
With milk tea shops sprouting all over CDO, not one store has levelled to the art explosion and cozy atmosphere Chingkeetea offers for their customers.
“Actually, I'm still in a state of shock! I didn't really see it as a competition, I'm just happy that Globe got to promote the coolest spots in Mindanao,” Chinkee Te said, when asked how she felt getting the awards.
Being awarded as top cool spot in the region, Chingkeetea is definitely a must try when tourists come in to the city.
“Mindanao and the Kagayan-ons are unique and creative, and that is exactly what Chingkeetea is,” she added.
Other awardees for Globe Telecom’s #WonderfulMindaNOW spots is the Enchanted River at Surigao, Dahilayan Adventure Park in Bukidnon, and The Divine Mercy Shrine.
