Dela Cruz also said his administration has facilitated the increase in the number of Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) coverage, rehabilitation of the rural health units, and lobby for the funding and construction of major road projects and buildings in cooperation with the Provincial Government.

“These were accomplished through the support of the people, the unity within our administration and the support of Governor Lilia Pineda,” Dela Cruz said.

He doused rumors that he will not run for mayor in the next elections.

He also took note of “too much politicking,” adding that “it’s still too early for the next elections and we must work first.”

Vice Mayor Dexter David, who was the running-mate and loyal ally of De La Cruz for two straight terms, said “it’s good the mayor categorically stated he will seek a third and final term in 2016.”

“Of course, I will be his vice mayor again,” said David.
