A FARMER was killed while a companion was wounded and another escaped unscathed in a drive-by gun attack along the highway of Zamboanga del Sur, the police reported Monday.
The Zamboanga del Sur Police Office said the incident took place around 1:30 p.m. Sunday along the national highway, particularly at the terminal area in Barangay Poblacion, Margosatubig town.
The police identified the lone fatality as Jimuel Heyrana, 40. He sustained nine gunshot wounds and died on the spot.
Wounded was Juanito Ediang, 44, and unscathed was Renato Arcillas, 38, the police said.
Investigation showed the victims were aboard a motorcycle driven by Heyrana, traveling for Tiguian village, Margosatubig, when shot by two gunmen riding tandem on another motorcycle.
The motive of the incident was believed to be personal grudge. Investigation continues to identify the suspects. (Bong Garcia)
