Total shabu haul so far, P23.32M

THE Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Davao Region seized a total of P23.32 million worth of shabu since January 2014.

Davao PDEA director Emerson Rosales, during the AFP-PNP press conference at Royal Mandaya Hotel on Wednesday, said this year's total amount of shabu seized by the bureau with the other law enforcement agency is higher than in 2013 with P13.88 million.

Rosales said the bureau also recorded 2.59 kilos of shabu seized from the suspected illegal drug pushers arrested in search, buy-bust and entrapment operations of the authorities, which is higher than last year with 1.5 kilos of shabu seized.

The PDEA regional director said the increase in drug seized is attributed to the increase in the number of operations done by the agency in coordination with the other law enforcers. He added that so far, they have conducted a total of 439 operations since January this year.

"And with the number of operations, I do not have the exact data here, but rest assured na mas marami na po ang na file na case this year against those drug pushers compared to last year. We had the highest number of conviction and lowest number in acquittal here in Region 11," Rosales said.

Rosales vowed to continue their campaign against illegal drugs in coordination with the members of the Davao City Police Office, Task Force Davao, and other law enforcement agencies in Davao Region.
