Cepca holds chess in jail

THE Cebu Executives and Professionals Chess Association (Cepca) will hold its second outreach program dubbed as “Project Sunshine,” for inmates at the Cebu City Rehabilitation Center in Kalunasan.

Three years ago, Cepca, under the leadership of Jojo Muralla, held its first outreach program, a chess tournament for the inmates at the Mandaue City Jail.

According to Jun Olis, Cepca’s tournament committee chairman, there will be 30 inmates who will play in a five-round Swiss System tournament. The top finishers will receive cash prizes from the club’s vice president Eng’r Marvyn Guardiana and other members. RCM
