Korea Day highlights free film fest in SM

SM City Cebu together with the Embassy of Korea are proud to celebrate the Korea Day in SM City Cebu come Oct. 4.

Highlighting this year’s Korea Day celebration is the Korean Film Festival featuring the following movies: Company Man stars actor So Ji-sub as an assassin. Actor Son Hyun-joo stars in Hide and Seek, about an insomniac whose brother has gone missing. Child star Yeon Jin-goo headlines Hwayi, a film about a child raised by criminals. The animated film King of Pigs is about bullying. All About My Wife, which deals with marital strife, stars Lee Sun-kyun and Im Soo-jung. Park Shin-hyang stars in Man on the Edge, about a criminal who moonlights as a fortune teller. My Paparotti is about a local teen gangster with musical dreams.

These movies will be shown for free beginning Oct. 1 to 5, at SM Cinema One.

Other activities include a chance to taste Korean dishes from various Korean stalls from Oct. 3 to 5 in front of the mall’s Entrance One; and a Korean exhibit from Oct. 3 to 5, 3rd level of the main mall fronting Max’s Restaurant.

Witness as the grand finalists of Cebu Kpop Star 2014 compete to be next Pinoy Kpop Star on Oct. 3, 6 p.m. at the Northwing Atrium.

Korean pop group NOM will perform on Oct. 3 and 4, 6 p.m. at the Northwing Atrium. The Korean Day cultural show at the Northwing Atrium on Oct. 4 will feature Cebuano and Korean singers and dancers. (PR)
