Council commends Luciano for Clark airport development

ANGELES CITY -- The city council here has commended outgoing Clark International Airport Corporation (CIAC) president and Chief Executive Officer Victor Jose Luciano for his invaluable contribution to the airport's development.

In Resolution 7047, Luciano was commended “for his leadership and him being instrumental in bringing in flights to the Clark International Airport that benefited the economy of Angeles City and adjacent communities.”

Vice Mayor Vicky Vega Cabigting said the hotel and restaurant industry also benefitted from the flights in Clark.

Luciano was able to convince the leadership of Asiana Airlines in Seoul, South Korea, to fly to the Philippines via the Clark International Airport.

In October 2003, the airlines launched its inaugural flight in Clark.

Aside from this, Luciano also work for the inclusion of Clark Development Corporation (CDC) and CIAC in the Philippine Air Negotiating Panel in 2002, the resolution said.

Luciano led in securing specific air entitlements for Clark airport from 32 countries, the council added.

"A total of 72,364 domestic and international flights have flown out of or landed into Clark International Airport as of August 2014," it was stated.

From 14,040 passengers in 2003, a total of 7003, 548 domestic and international passengers have flown in and out of the Clark airport, the SP stated.

The resolution was sponsored by Councilors Max Sangil, Alex Indiongco, Jericho Aguas, Arvin Suller, and Bryan Nepomuceno.
