Luis Manzano supports Pa's Senate bid

TELEVISION host Luis Manzano showed support to his father, actor Edu Manzano, who is running for senator in the 2016 polls.

Luis, together with younger siblings Addie and Lorenzo, accompanied Edu in filing the latter's certificate of candidacy before the Commission on Elections in Intramuros, Manila on Friday.

On his Twitter account, the "Kapamilya, Deal or No Deal?" main man also thanked everyone who articulated their support to his father.

Edu, who previously served as chairman of the Optical Media Board and vice mayor of Makati City, is not new to national elections.

He ran for vice president in 2010 but lost to then Makati City Mayor Jejomar Binay.

If elected senator, Edu said his major advocacies would be education, employment, infrastructure projects in the provinces, and traffic management especially in Metro Manila.

Unlike his father, Luis said he is not seeking any elective post in Lipa City, Batangas, where his mother, Batangas Governor Vilma Santos-Recto, served as mayor from 1998 to 2007.

One of his Twitter followers said she will wait until he is ready to enter public service.

"@rjbravo_xyz: @luckymanzano I'm waiting for the time for you to be ready to serve us here in Batangas and Lipa... In God's perfect time, that will happen."

Luis replied: "Yes it will, in God's perfect time." (Sunnex)
