Omeng thanks Sta. Ana folks, endorses brother for mayor

STA. ANA -- Mayor Rommel "Omeng" Concepcion, who will be ending his third term next year, extended his gratitude to the people of this town for their unending support to his family.

During the program held before the filing of certificate of candidacy (COC) of the Kambilan Party where he is affiliated, Concepcion looked back at when he started his career as a father of this town in 2007.

He said he started with only one barangay captain by his side but is now stepping down with 11 leaders out of the 14 barangays of the municipality as allies.

"Makanyan kayu pung sinuporta kanaku at king pamilya mi uli na pu siguru ning pepakit mi namang serbisyu keng balen Sta. Ana (That is how you showed your support for me and our family as you've seen how we served our town)," said Concepcion.

Under his leadership, students, small and medium entrepreneurs, senior citizens, farmers and tricycle drivers are among those that received assistance from the municipal government. Several infrastructures were also given attention and thoroughfares were developed and converted into national roads.

The mayor also took the opportunity to endorse his younger brother, Rameses "Tek" Concepcion for the post that he will be leaving.

The older Concepcion formally gave his blessing to his younger brother to continue his program in developing the municipality for the benefit of their constituents.

The younger Concepcion thanked his brother for the support and trust.

He also acknowledged the sacrifice made by his older sister, incumbent Councilor Rhodora "Oday" Concepcion-Nacpil and Vice Mayor Medy Nolasco to give way for his brother’s mayoral bid.

"Duduku ke pu ing buntuk ku karela kasi kahit balu tamung qualified la rin pu para keng pwestu, megsakripisyu la pu (I am giving my full respect and gratitude to them for giving way to me despite the fact that they are also qualified for the position)," Tek said.

He added that his noble intention to provide service especially to the less fortunate people will be his commitment to Sta. Ana folks.

He vowed to properly impose the rules and regulations to make the municipality more progressive.

Agriculture, health, education, peace and order and other basic services will be offered to the public once he takes the seat.

He also promised his brother that his programs for the people will be continued and his remaining dreams for the municipality will be fulfilled under their leadership.

Tek will be running under the Kambilan party together with Nolasco.

His council includes his sister Oday, two other re-electionists Arthur Diaz and Rey Montoya and aspiring councilors Arnel Guzman, Rolly Mangune, Jun Calma, Amelito Musngi, Jr. and Lando Lulu.
