GMCAC holds consultations to improve airport experience

MACTAN-Cebu airport operator GMR Megawide Cebu Airport Corp. (GMCAC) has opened a venue for consultations to improve passenger experience.

In a statement, GMCAC said it launched Matud Nila: Airport Users Forum (AUF) to generate public feedback in the current improvements done at the airport and at the same time solicit suggestions on how to further upgrade the airport facilities.

The AUF seeks feedback from members of the Cebuano community on how to ensure that the airport improvements and development meet the needs of passengers with various types of requirements.

GMCAC conducted the first forum last Aug. 26 with AUF member-representatives from different sectors in the community.

Among the suggestions pushed during the forum were an updated toilet designed for persons with disability (PWD), airport personnel with extensive background on rehabilitation medicine to better facilitate PWDs, child-friendly facilities like kiddie urinals inside ladies’ washrooms, better signs to direct flow of passengers similar to those in cruise ships, and fast and reliable Internet connections.

GMCAC chief executive advisor Andrew Acquaah-Harrison said the airport will be adding additional charging stations and provide improved Wi-Fi coverage. They will also standardize tables of food concessionaires.
