THE Iloilo City Council has approved the supplemental budget worth P51.64 million to fund the continued implementation of various programs and projects for October 2014.
Councilor Eduardo Penaredondo, chairman of the City Council committee on appropriations, said the amount also include payment for electric bills for the month of April 2014 amounting to P5.28 million and payment of landline telephone bills for September and October 2014 amounting to P660,000.
The supplemental budget will cover the expenses of P16 million at the City Mayor’s Office for projects and programs for the month of October, including offices of the city population, human resource, city budget, legal, planning, treasurer, assessor, agriculturist, civil registrar, engineer’s, general services, environment and natural resources, accountant, veterinarian, tourism and social welfare.
The budget will also be spent for the local legislative support program amounting to P544,453, CESPEDIC (P2.47 million), fund for honorarium base personnel (P5 million), additional allowance to National Government officials and employees (P4.25 million), fund for capital outlay at the CMO (P350,000), senior citizens affairs office and capital outlay (P3.7 million), HRMO capital outlay (P68,750) and fund for CESPEDIC of councilors Liezel Joy Salazar and Jose Efrain Trenas (P50,000).
The budget also covers the legislative support program of City Councilors Armand Parcon, Eduardo Penaredondo, Joshua Alim, Carlos Guarin and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) amounting to P750,000, capital outlay of CMO beautification program (P21,500), capital outlay for land transport and peace and order (P7.575 million), fund for creation of assistant department head (P266,241), fund for City Treasurer’s Office (P759,000), payment or plant nursery and organic farming project (P84,382), rent of heavy equipment (P1.6 million), upgrading of internet connection (P110,000), and city’s Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office’s fund (P1.83 million).
