THE Ateneo de Davao University Lady Blue Knights ended its two-game skid by routing University of Northern Philippines (UNP) of Vigan, 61-49, on the the last day of women's basketball eliminations in the ongoing 19th Philippine University Games (Uni-Games) held at the Iloilo Doctors College (IDC) Gym Friday.
Ateneo soared to an early 29-18 lead at the break but UNP rallied to snatch a 44-43 advantage at the end of the third canto.
The Lady Blue Knights bowed to Rizal Technological University (RTU) and to Adamson University in their past two games in bracket A.
In the men's side, the Ateneo Blue Knights absorbed its third straight loss, succumbing to RTU, 68-74, at the Iloilo Sports Complex gym yesterday. The defeat came on the heels of back-to-back losses at the hands of the University of San Jose Recoletos (USJ-R) and University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos in their past two matches.
The Ateneo men's basketball team plays the Hercor College of Roxas City at 11 a.m. today.
Sharing the same fate was the University of the Immaculate Conception that was beaten by Adamson University and John B Lacson Foundation Maritime University.
In table tennis, AdDU women's team bowed to UNO-R while their men counterparts also lost to University of San Agustin, 1-3.
The University of Mindanao and Jose Maria College also sent entries to the annual games.
