Maco Powervolts tops Comval meet

THE Maco Powervolts hauled a total of 57 gold medals, 37 silvers and 28 bronzes to emerge over-all champion at the close of the 17th Compostela Valley Provincial Athletic Association Meet 2014 dubbed as "Aim high: Sports Unity and Development" held in Maragusan recently.

Monkayo Bansilaw collected 45 golds, 32 silvers and 30 bronzes while Nabunturan Black Mamba cornered 43 golds, 38 silvers and 40 bronzes.

In the elementary division, Monkayo Bansilaw stamped rivals Maco Powervolts and Mawab Splashers that placed second and third, respectively.

Maco Powervolts, however, topped the secondary division as Nabunturan Black Mamba and Maragusan Maroon Knights grabbed the next two spots.

Maragusan Mayor Cesar C. Colina Sr., meanwhile, thanked guests and officials of the Department of Education (Deped), 11 competing delegations Montevista Sky Movers, New Bataan Gems, Mabini Beach Lines, Pantukan Blue Shark, Compostella White Dragons and Laak Caver.

Compostela Valley Governor.ArthuroUy, for his part, also extended his greetings and congratulations to the event organizers particularly Deped-ComVal under Assistant Schools Division Superintendent Dee D. Silva and host municipality Maragusan under Mayor. Colina Sr.

Events entered were athletics, taekwondo, gymnastics, arnis, archery, badminton, baseball, boxing, chess, volleyball, basketball, softball, football, table tennis, lawn tennis, billiards, futsal, Wushu and wrestling.
