Binay visits Zambo

VICE President Jejomar Binay is arriving here Saturday to attend several activities the whole day.

Office of the Vice President Media on Site John Maguad said Binay will join a boodle fight type breakfast together with marketgoers, stall holders and vendors at Zamboanga City's waterfront public market at 6 a.m.

A press conference will follow at 7 a.m. in one of the local hotels in the city.

At 9:30 a.m., Binay will keynote the opening of the centennial jamboree of the Boy Scouts of the Philippines (BSP) at the Zamboanga City Special Economic Zone and Freeport Authority.

Binay, who is the BSP president, will accept the Peace Torch and Baton during the opening ceremonies of the Jamboree.

rHe will later join the BSP-Zamboanga City Council officials and the boy scouts in a boodle lunch at the jamboree site.

The jamboree will see the participation of more than 6,000 Boy Scouts from the different parts of Mindanao.

Binay will visit at 1:45 p.m. the housing project implemented by the National Housing Authority for the internally displaced persons at the Paniran Resettlement Project in the village of Sta. Catalina.

Binay is the country’s housing czar being the chairman of the Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council.

At 2:20 p.m., the Vice President will join a candle lighting ceremony at historic 379-year-old Fort Pilar Shrine.

At 3:15 p.m., Binay will meet with the nuns of Carmelite Monastery along R.T. Lim Boulevard. (Bong Garcia)
