Homegrown ICT-BPO firms told to join ICT awards

DAVAO City-based information communication technology and business process outsourcing (ICT-BPO) companies are urged to join the 9th International ICT Awards Philippines 2015.

The awarding aims "to recognize the very best dynamic and fast growing information communication - business process management (IT-BPM) industry in the Philippines."

It is an annual event organized by the Canadian Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (Cancham), in association with Information Technology and Business Process Association of the Philippines (IBPAP).

Julian Payne, Cancham president, said in a press briefing that they are hoping for more Mindanao-based or Mindanaoan-owned ICT-BPO companies that will be submitting nominations for the awards.

He said they also want to get nominations from ICT-BPO companies from rising ICT hubs like Cagayan de Oro City, Dumaguete City, Bacolod City, and Cebu City.

Payne said they will be doing a series of promotional campaigns in their chapters in Cebu City and Davao City to raise awareness about the award. They will also be sending invites to other cities through its business chambers.

The promotional campaign will lead up to their launching on November 25, which will also signify the opening for nominations and self-nominations. Nominations will run until January 2015.

The awarding is targeted to be around March 2015 or early 2nd quarter of next year. Payne said they are looking into Makati Shangri-La or Resorts World Manila as the venue for the International ICT Awards Philippines 2015.
