2 fall, drugs seized in raids

POLICE arrested two men and seized illegal drugs in separate operations in Cebu City and Liloan last Monday.

In Sitio Sam-ang, Barangay Guadalupe, Cebu City, intelligence operatives captured Arturo Pactol Manubag, 45, in a buy-bust at 9:15 p.m.

Insp. Gomersendo Mandawe, deputy chief of Cebu City Police Office-City Intelligence Branch (CIB), said they seized 120 sachets containing what they believed to be shabu from the suspect.

The contraband is worth P36,000 in street sales, according to Mandawe.

Aside from the illegal drugs, the CIB personnel also confiscated the marked P100-bill and P1,000 in cash believed to be the suspect’s proceeds from selling illegal drugs.

At 2:55 p.m., SPO4 Octavio Delapaz and PO2 Allen Lecciones collared suspected junkie Jovin Contado Navarro in Barangay San Vicente, Liloan.

The police officers recovered two marijuana sticks and a lighter from Lecciones, 25.

San Vicente Barangay Captain Primitivo Mantuhak reported to the police that Navarro was smoking marijuana.

At past 12 a.m. last Monday, a team from the Provincial Intelligence Branch killed suspected drug pusher Randy Itong Lobitaña in Barangay Lourdes, Bogo City.

They recovered four big packs of suspected shabu worth P306,000, drug paraphernalia, a .45 pistol, air rifle, .9mm pistol and two vehicles from the drug den.
