Price of veggies, fruits drop: BAS

A P5 tO P20 drop in the prices of selected vegetable and fruit products were observed at the Bankerohan Public Market based on the price watch issued by Philippine Statistics Authority-Bureau of Agricultural Statistics (PSA-BAS) Davao City on November 21.

PSA-BAS Davao City data showed that native pechay has the largest drop in price with a P15 to P20 price drop. The price of native pechay as of November 21 is at P60 to P70 from P80 to P85 on November 14.

The price of sitao and eggplant went down by P10. Sitao now is at P30 to P40 from P40 to P50, while the price of eggplant went down to P20 to P30 from P30 to P40.

The price for habitchuelas and calamansi went down by P5 to P10. The price of habitchuelas is at P35 to P40 from P40 to P50, while calamansi is at P35 to P40 from P40 to P50.

Meanwhile, PSA-BAS Davao City also monitored a price increase of P5 in cabbage and P10 in white potato.

As of November 21, cabbage is at P35 to P40 from P30 to P35 on November 14, while white potato is at P70 to P80 from P60 to P70.

The price of other selected agricultural products remains stable as of the latest price monitoring. Well milled rice is at P41 to P46, regular milled rice is at P36 to P40, and NFA rice is at P27 to P32.

The price of meat, poultry, and seafood products are: pork liempo - P170 to P180; pork lean meat - P165 to P175; beef lean meat - P220; beef with bones - P175 to P180; dressed chicken - P125 to P130; medium sized chicken egg - P5 to P5.50; bangus - P110 to P120; and tilapia - P100 to P120.

The price of selected fruits and vegetables are: ampalaya - P50 to P60; carrots - P50 to P60; tomato - P40 to P50; red onion - P65 to P75; native garlic - P230 to P240; imported garlic - P90 to P100; Hawaiian garlic - P90 to P100; lakatan - P36 to P38; latundan - P25 to P28; papaya - P18 to P20; and carabao mango - P60 to P70.
