Commodity prices up by P3 to P20

A P3 to P20 increase in the prices of selected vegetable, fruit, and seafood products were observed at the Bankerohan Public Market based on the price watch issued by Philippine Statistics Authority-Bureau of Agricultural Statistics (PSA-BAS) Davao City on December 12.

PSA-BAS Davao City data showed that habitchuelas has the largest price increase at P15 to P20. The price of habitchuelas as of December 12 is at P50 to P60 from P35 to P40 in December 5.

A P20 price increase was also observed in galunggong and carrots. The price of galunggong increased to P140 from P120 while carrots are now at P50 to P60 from P30 to P40.

There is a P10 price increase for cabbage, which is now at P50 to P60 from P40 to P50. Lakatan and latundan experienced a P2 to P3 price increase.

Lakatan now is at P38 to P40 from P35 to P38 while latundan is at P28 to P30 from P25 to P28.

However there is also a price drop for alumahan, tomato, white potato, eggplant, and native pechay. Alumahan is at P120 as of December 12 from P130 on December 5; tomato is at P30 to P35 from P35 to P40; white potato is at P65 to P75 from P70 to P80; eggplant is at P18 to P20 from P20 to P26; and native pechay is at P60 to P70 from P70 to P80.

The prices of other commodities remain stable. Well-milled rice is at P41 to P46 with a prevailing price of P43 while regular milled rice is at P36 to P40 with a prevailing price of P38.

The price of meat, poultry, and seafood products are: pork liempo - P170 to P180; pork lean meat - P160 to P170; beef lean meat - P218 to P220; beef with bones P175 to P180; dressed chicken P128 to P130; medium sized chicken egg - P5 to P5.50; and bangus P98 to P120.

The price of vegetables and fruits are: amapalaya - P50 to P60; sitao - P50 to P60; red onion - P60 to P70; native garlic - P230 to P240; imported garlic - P90 to P100; hawaiian garlic - P80 to P100; calamansi - P32 to P40; papaya P18 to P20; and carabao mango P60 to P70.
