2 spots added in Suroy Sugbo

TWO more tourist attractions will be added in the itinerary for the Suroy-Suroy sa Sugbo in southern Cebu next month.

Some 200 guests who are expected to join Suroy-Suroy Sugbo will get to see the Mainit Spring in Malabuyoc and Aguinid Falls in Samboan, both in the southern tip of Cebu, for the first time after the roads leading to the sites were developed with the help of the Provincial Government and the local government unit (LGU).

Provincial Tourism Officer Grace Paulino said 13 tourism destinations in the different municipalities will be featured during this tourism event. It will run for three days and two nights.

Vice Gov. Agnes Magpale said the Capitol’s ecotourism program will start on Wednesday after the Sinulog celebration.

“We are strongly urging the LGUs to develop their ecotourism site,” said Magpale.

She said the Capitol now have 80 reservations.

Paulino said the package rate ranges from P7,000 to P14,000. This will include meals, transportation and accommodation.

Capitol will not include Kawasan Falls in Badian town for the Suroy-Suroy next month after this was damaged by the previous calamities.

The vice governor pointed out that developing the roads in different tourism sites would allow easy access for the visitors.

Last January, there were 13 LGUs that participated in the Suroy-Suroy sa Sugbo Southern Heritage Trail, which gathered a total of 150 tourists.
