CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga -- Chief Superintendent Ronald Valcos Santos, deputy Regional Director for Administration and Officer-in-Charge of the Police Regional Office-3 (PRO3), conducted a surprise inspection at the different stores selling firecrackers and pyrotechnic devices at Barangay Turo, Bocaue, Bulacan on Tuesday.
Santos placed posters and distributed leaflets to store owners pertaining to RA 7183 (An Act Regulating the Sale, Manufacture, Distribution and Use of Firecrackers and Pyrotechnic Devices).
He also reiterated the guidelines of the National Headquarters for all firecracker manufacturers and dealers to strictly comply with safety regulations in selling authorized firecrackers.
Santos also reminded the public that prohibited firecrackers are very dangerous and are known to cause serious injury or even death.
He said several illegal firecrackers were confiscated from several stores in Bocaue town.

Meanwhile, police from National Headquarters in Camp Crame, Quezon City also inspected recently several pyrotechnics devices and firecracker stores in selected towns and cities in the province of Bulacan to determine their compliance with Republic Act 7183.
Director Melito Mabilin, director for Civil Security Group (CSG) was accompanied by Chief Superintendent Moro Lazo, chief of the Firearms Explosive Office and other police officers in inspecting several pyrotechnics and firecracker stores in Bulacan particularly Bocaue town.
Mabilin said the inspection on firecracker stores' purpose is to intensify police operations to achieve zero casualty during the celebration of the holiday season. (Ric Sapnu)
