Son regrets silence during last moment with pa

LAST Monday, Troy Matthew Largo celebrated his 15th birthday with his family and received a silver bracelet as a present from his father, Timoteo.

He did not know it was the last gift from his father, who was shot and killed yesterday morning.

The third year high school student of Consolatrix College last saw his father as he got off their black Ford Everest sports utility vehicle (SUV) early that morning.

Troy Matthew said he wished he said something to his father.

Timoteo dropped off Troy and a daughter at Consolatrix College and was on his way home when he was allegedly gunned down by Dionesio Juarez, a neighbor.

“Nagmahay ko. Wala man lang gyud ko nakaingon niya og pag-amping (I wished that I was able to tell him to take care),” Troy Matthew said, holding the bracelet given by his father.

While in school, he was summoned by the guidance counselor who informed him about his father's death.

“Bisan daghan kaayo mi magsuon, pinangga mi niya tanan (He had many children but he loved all of us),” Troy Matthew said.

Timoteo fathered 11 children with three women.

For 24-year-old Lily (not her real name), Timoteo's live-in partner and the fourth woman in his life, the barangay captain was a good man and responsible public servant.

“Sukad nga siya maoy nahimong kapitan sa among lugar, nahapsay na didto (Since he assumed as barangay captain, he put things in order),” she said in a separate interview.

Timoteo was on his first term as village chief.

She said Timoteo was planning to seek reelection and asked for her opinion.

She said during an interview with Sun.Star Cebu that they were also planning to have children of their own.
