USC entrep fair to open today

THE University of San Carlos will open the 11th USC Entrepreneurs’ Fair (Entrep Fair) today at the Activity Center in Ayala Center Cebu. The fair will be held until Jan. 11.

The Entrep Fair is organized to harness the skills of students and prepare them to become competitive entrepreneurs by exposing them to the real world business.

The press conference to announce the event was held at the University of San Carlos - Business Administration Department Conference Room. It was attended by the Entrepreneurship cluster faculty – Kristian Marc Cabahug, Dr. Roberto H. Visitacion and Dr. Angelita Ramona Valles; and also by Prodigy club officers, the BS- Entrepreneurship official club in the University – Dessa Kaye Regalado, Liza Maureal. Also present was program head Anne Baconawa.

The department aims to build entrepreneurs and the 11th Entrepreneurs’ Fair will expose the students and their enterprises to the market, test out their products and apply what they have learned.

With creating their own ventures, the students will not only develop the needed skills as entrepreneurs but will also gain the experience of running their businesses, such as obtaining the necessary government permits.

Thirteen business exhibitors, varying from food to general merchandise businesses, will be joining the event.

This semester’s fair will also be featuring nine non-selling student enterprises under product development. Prototypes will be presented by the non-food student enterprises while product sampling will be done by the food enterprises.

“The best advantage of Entrep Fair is about contact building,” said Cabahug Exhibiting the businesses in Ayala Center Mall where there are different types of consumers will help them earn market attention. (PR)
