LOOK: Sinulog 2015 Launching Parade

CEBU CITY -- Students from different Cebu schools joined Friday the 2015 Sinulog Launching Parade, which kicked off the Sinulog festival.

The parade started around 4 p.m. from the Basilica Minore del Sto. Niño to Fuente Osmeña, and up to the Cebu City Sports Complex (CCSC).

The activity was led by Mayor Michael Rama, Vice Mayor Edgardo Labella, Miss Cebu 2015 candidates, and Miss Cebu 2014 Cheriemel Diane Muego.

Also present during the event were delegates from the University of San Carlos, Cebu Technological University, Mandaue City College, Indiana Aerospace University, Southwestern University, Abellana National School, Asian College of Techonology, Salazar Colleges of Science and Institute of Technology, Cebu Doctor's University, University of Cebu, University of Southern Philippines Foundation, Cebu Institute of Technology - University, Mandaue City Science High School, Visayas State University, University of San Jose - Recolitos, Mabolo National High School, Zapatera National High School, Don Vicente Ramon Memorial National High School, and Ramon Duterte Memorial National High School.

Cebu City Traffic Operations Management (Citom) Operations Chief Jonathan Tumulak said more than 100 officers were deployed for the event.

Medical teams were also deployed along the parade route.
