Fat-flushing recipe

DEAR Dr. Fritz,

Great day, doc! I'm one of your supporters and followers. I have just turned 25, but my waistline is way beyond my age...huhu.. Whoa! That is why, my new year's resolution is battling these fats by sweating out. I know that I need to consume a lot of water to help me in the process. The problem is, I sometimes do not hydrate myself well enough. I just wanted to know if there is a recipe out there which could help me increase my fluid intake and at the same time flush my fats just by using water.

Please help me doc. Thanks and God bless.

Dear J. Francois,

I am glad to know that your new year's resolution is getting rid of those fats out. This is good, not only for your self-esteem, but, importantly, your health as well. I just wanted to appreciate your way of fighting those fats because though, it's the hard to sweat it out, this is road to a healthy lifestyle. So, let me hear those push-ups my dear!..hehe.

You have to remember that when you sweat out, you have to drink about seven to nine glasses of water a day because when you sweat it out - your body would, of course, increase its need for water.

Well, I can understand if you don't like water - and I appreciate your earnest way to keep up with the fluid when you asked for something that may help you with this. Of course, drinking water should be in your menu, dear to keep those fats off. But, since you don't like the taste of water, I can help you with some recipes that can also help you burn those fats - and by using water, too.

Grapefruit and cucumber delight

Here's what you have to do:

1. Fill a large pitcher with a mineral water. If possible, go for alkaline water.

2. Get one grapefruit, a half of cucumber and one tangerine (optional). Slice them and add them to a pitcher of water with ice.

3. Then, add some peppermint leaves. Stir and leave this in your refrigerator.

4. You can add some strawberries or cherries or honey - if you want to sweeten this.

Let's now try to analyze what this recipe is packed with. Your grapefruit is rich in vitamin C and fat burning enzymes. So, instead of your body storing those fats, it will now change gears by burning them. You need those cucumbers to prevent you from bloating and since it will make you feel full, you wouldn't reach out for more food always.

Moreover, it will keep your stomach balanced and promote healthy digestion. Those tangerines are actually needed because it is stuffed with vitamins and minerals. You see when you want to lose weight, your body still needs nourishment. However, honey can also support this need.

Well, as much as we still have a lot to talk about your issues and we are running out of space this time, then, let me continue this in my next issue. Until then!

Dr. Fritz
